UPDATE: AirFair Meeting, Friday, September 15
Your excellent response to our monthly AirFair meeting for Friday, September 15 is greatly appreciated. But, because we will have more people than can be accommodated for lunch by the Club, we have changed the time to 1 p.m., and we will not order lunch.
Fortunately, residents are still responding, and we will have enough room for everyone.
The purpose of the meeting is to get acquainted with Jeff Herdman, District 5 Councilperson and new Aviation Committee chair. (Yes, he lives under the flight path on Balboa Island). After his presentation, he will be available for a Q & A.
Also on our agenda is a brief overview of SPON/AirFair, a presentation of the petition written and sent around by another group of local activists, and a group discussion of opportunities for action.
AirFair is pleased to welcome you to our regularly scheduled meeting, and we hope what you learn will inspire you get involved in JWA – related citizen efforts.
Please bring your constructive ideas about how to address “our” airport problems. While “venting” about the airport is cathartic (It is for me.), we need to keep it to a few examples and concentrate on solutions.
Constant vigilance and community engagement are essential to preserving the quality of life of all of those who live near JWA.
We are looking forward to seeing you at 1 p.m. Friday, September 15.
